### Venn Diagrams

**V**enn Diagrams consist of a *Universe*, which is the set of all objects being considered**E**mpty sets have nothing in it**N**ull set is another way of saying empty set**N**umbers, people and things are examples of sets in a Venn Diagram**D**efinition for *Union* is when you gather all the objects in two or more given sets* Intersections* are objects that are common to two or more given sets

**A**smaller collection of objects taken from a given set is called a

*subset*

**G**athering every object outside a given set is a

*compliment*of that set

**R**emember "\" means

*exclusion*, so that means you gather everything in a given set

*EXCLUDING*other objects within another given set

**A**ll

*sets*within a Venn Diagram are also their own

*subsets*

**M**ake sure you draw a

*Universe*for

**all**of your Venn Diagrams, it's very important!
